My inspiration comes from all areas of my life, recently though I have been inspired by the beautiful landscapes in Devon. We moved here 2 years ago, the countryside with its rolling hills are beautiful and really inspire me. I’m always taking photographs while out walking.

I begin with the photos and then start to sketch, I’ll piece things together placing wood on top of a board to develop my ideas further. In my head, I already have an idea of how the final piece is going to look before I start to put it onto my easel.

Not that you would necessarily see an obvious connection, but nature is usually a starting point for my work. It often goes off at a tangent which then calls upon my personal experiences and memories.
