My starting point for these pieces begin by coating the backboard with a neutral primer. Graphite is worked straight onto the board; alternatively layered papers coated in graphite are added.
My aim is to explore different textures and tones. Masking out selected areas of the paper I blacken out the unmasked areas.
The enjoyment of creating 3D wall art has led me to create sculptures. Sculptures allow me to be free of any size constraints, my current pieces are up to two metres in height.
The printing techniques that I am interested in are multi-layered Gel Prints, Monoprints and Intaglio using coated paper.
